This devotion originally appeared on http://www.christianwomenliving.com My husband rolled his eyes and said in jest, “he was going upstairs to pack my bagsbecause I was surely going to need them for my trip down memory lane.” A very close friend from childhood was in town visiting, and I was excited about seeingher again. Although outwardly,… Continue reading The Power of A Faithful Friend
To quote A. W. Tozer, “The best way to keep the enemy out is to keep Christ in. The sheep need not be terrified by the wolf; they have but to stay close to the Shepherd. It is not the praying sheep Satan fears but the presence of the Shepherd.” By the power of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, ceaseless prayer and constant abiding in Christ we can fend off the evil one’s attacks.
This morning at church was different—we didn't hug or shake hands; instead, we maintained the proper “social distance” with waves and fist bumps. Nonetheless, merely coming together under one roof with many of my church family was enough to restore my faith and subdue the doubt and fear I had silently harbored over the past few months. Perhaps you have had a similar experience? Join me on the blog as we discuss the importance of getting back in church.
This devotion originally appeared on Proverbs 31 Encouragement for Today. Crash! My stomach lurched as I sprinted into the bedroom where my 14-month-old daughter greeted me with a toothy grin. Devotion first appeared on Choosing Him Ministries. I wearily walked back into the restaurant, my thoughts dark and my heart heavy. Suddenly, our server appeared with a note—a note with the exact words I needed at that very moment. It wasn't a coincidence. It wasn't just a random act of kindness. It was God speaking… Continue reading Hello God? Are you Listening?
Although the battle for our souls was won the moment we trusted Jesus Christ as Savior, spiritual warfare will be waged until Jesus returns and God throws the Devil into the lake of fire. (I get pretty excited thinking about that!) The Prince of this World is the undeniable enemy of God who will do everything in his power to separate us from the love of Christ. #beyondthenoise
